Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our HR Group Learning and Development team as a Aviation Safety Learning and Development Specialist to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As the Aviation Safety Learning and Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously enhancing aviation safety learning solutions across Qatar Airways Group and partners, ensuring regulatory compliance while strengthening organisational safety performance, governance and assurance.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include

Implement and support the Qatar Airways Safety Management System (SMS) by contributing to the delivery of standardised aviation safety learning programmes aligned with the SMS Policy Manual. Design, deliver, and continuously improve aviation safety training programmes in alignment with ICAO SMS principles and applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Safety Policy, Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion. Develop, deliver, and oversee specialized aviation safety training programs including but not limited to Safety Management Systems, risk assessment tools and techniques, hazard identification, root cause analysis, safety investigation, change management, fatigue and human factors, and safety reporting processes, as directed by Group Learning and Development Management. Facilitate classroom, blended, and digital learning sessions for aircrew, ground staff, and technical personnel, applying adult learning principles, learner-centred approaches, and the 70:20:10 learning methodology. Design, develop, review, and update aviation safety training materials and learning resources in line with international aviation safety best practices, regulatory standards, and talent development methodologies. Analyse operational data, safety reports, investigation findings, audit outcomes, and industry trends to identify learning needs and continuously enhance training content and effectiveness. Collaborate with safety, operational, and business stakeholders to ensure safety learning programmes are aligned with business requirements and support operational risk management objectives. Act as an internal aviation safety learning consultant by providing coaching, mentoring, and subject matter support to business units to enable standardised yet tailored safety learning solutions. Promote and embed a proactive and positive safety culture by supporting safety initiatives, delivering safety workshops, and providing briefings that enhance safety awareness across the organisation. Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance evidence, ensuring all aviation safety training meets regulatory, quality, safety, security, and environmental management requirements. Utilise Learning Management Systems (LMS) and support the development of computer-based training (CBT) to enable efficient, scalable, and compliant delivery of safety learning programmes. Support organisational risk management by collaborating with safety teams to ensure training outputs and data contribute to the company Risk Register and safety performance monitoring. Review and standardise existing aviation safety training programmes across locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with approved standards.

Qualification

About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

High school qualification/vocational qualification/diploma or equivalent with minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience. A formal aviation safety trainer accreditation required from ICAO/IATA/Civil Aviation authority Aviation safety operational experience Experience in the delivery of Aviation Safety Training Excellent written and spoken communication skills Sound knowledge of MS Office suite Experience in training in multi-cultural environments Instructional ability Aviation Safety subject matter competence
