Taste & Wellbeing Commercial Controller for Africa and the Middle East

A Commercial Controller opportunity with the global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty, and an essential member of our Taste & Wellbeing Regional Controlling team for South Asia, Africa and the Middle East, while being based in our Dubai office - Your future position?

Our Controlling team ensures that Givaudan can continue to offer our niche solutions and ingredients to customers at the appropriate value and price point to promote sustainable growth and is also responsible for all business controlling matters, from monthly reporting to business case modelling and contract work.

We are looking to strengthen our Taste & Wellbeing Controlling team for South Asia, Africa and the Middle East (SAMEA) region and hiring a ‘Commercial Controller' to support our increasing business needs and project pipelines in Africa and the Middle East (AME) region. The role will be based in our SAMEA regional head office in Dubai and will report to the Taste & Wellbeing Head of Controlling & Pricing for SAMEA.

You will support the Taste & Wellbeing SAMEA Controlling team with Financial analysis, KPI’s, system preparation, numeric information, business cases, and general controlling activities to maximise the purpose, sales and profitability of the business. You will partner and work closely with our commercial teams in the Africa and Middle East markets in all commercial finance activities to build strong relationships and become a vital partner for the business.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for - 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Monitor overall functional costs (OPEX & CAPEX) and perform analysis.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams and deliver proactive and engaging financial and commercial insights.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency with systems requirements.
  • Participate in the forecasting mid to long-term planning activities for the Africa and Middle East markets.
  • Provide detailed, accurate financial reports and analysis promptly.
  • Establish processes to provide revenue and profit analysis regularly and take ownership with Commercial.
  • Create awareness and transparency on any business risks and opportunities to regional and local management teams.

Business Partnering

  • Prepare and collect financial information for the sub-regions (last estimation & budget).
  • Provide timely and insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Extend vital business analysis support to the sales teams across the AME region.
  • Effectively build close working relationships across all business functions and teams across the AME region. 

Drive commercial finance processes

  • Participate in the preparation of training and support to staff in sales and sub-regions in the effective use of financial reporting systems to ensure effective business control.
  • Provide support across several projects, including systems/process implementations, to continuously improve our business process and share best practices across Givaudan. 

Continuous improvement

  • Seek to identify and implement improvements in the commercial reporting process, enabling efficient and accurate monthly financial reviews.
  • Proactively suggest technical and process improvements.

Your professional profile includes:

  • Currently living or residing in the United Arab Emirates.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, or Accounting, and keen to start or already working towards professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CFA)
  • 5+ years of relevant professional work experience in controlling and/or accounting role(s) in cross-cultural/international work environments. 
  • Additional experience in: B2B budgeting and planning/sales/marketing/operations/FMCG work environments will be advantageous but not mandatory. 
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Customer interaction experience will be an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language. Proficiency in additional languages like Arabic or French will be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge or experience with SAP (SD, CO, FI) & SAP-BI will be useful to have.
