Job Overview:

Provides Management of HSE-related activities in support of all operations. This role serves as a focal point and provides Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) expertise and support to all facility activities. Direct an organization's HSE programs. Develops, implements, and manages HSE programs, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Engage line management and staff to realize zero incident HSE performance
  • Prioritize and execute HSE related tasks and projects
  • Implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of McDermott and site local HSE program, standards, policies, procedures and reporting requirements
  • Managing a positive interface with regulatory entities and internal customers
  • Adopt and implement best industry practices for HSE
  • Influence customers and/or organizational leadership to accomplish operational objectives
  • Communicate with and advise senior management on issues and concerns relating to projects and site operations requiring HSE support and guidance
  • Communicates, presents or justifies overall HSE performance to management as necessary
  • Provide advisory support to Technical Services and Customer Services teams for the provision of products, and spent product reclamation activities on a global basis
  • Verify company and client compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection
  • Agency (or local jurisdiction) regulations, and other job-specified procedures or standards
  • HSE Critical Activities Currently Include:
    • Hazard Effects Management
    • Audit
    • Regulatory Interpretation & permitting
    • Fire Related Systems
    • Environmental program & Product Stewardship
    • Management of IH Activities
    • Change Management (e.g. PSM related)
  • Support to field Technical Services team
  • HSE Level 1 Critical Tasks Include:
    • Tanks and Tank Farm Operations
    • Inspections and Approval of Safety Equipment and Systems
    • On Site Emergency Response
  • HSE Level 2 Critical Tasks Include:
    • Human Factors Engineering
    • HSE Case Development
    • Incident Investigation
    • HSE Audit Review
    • Supervision of Staff Performing Level 1 Critical Tasks
    • Vendor/Contractor HSE Assessment/Qualification; HSE Metric Reporting
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree
  • 10+ years of HSE Management experience within the energy industry through all phases of EPCI Project delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer Literate in MS Office Applications

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Industry and professional Certifications within the HSE field
  • Broad knowledge of laws, regulations and practices in areas of HSE, Transportation and Customs Regulations
