Senior Manager- Supply Chain

Job Description

Job Purpose:

Coordinate and manage all activities related to the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for the company’s operations.


Key Responsibility Areas:

  • · Responsible for managing movement, tracking, warehousing, and shipping of finished goods. Ensure all Supply Chain processes are efficient and maintain cost performance measures.
  • · Developing plans for the use of technology within the supply chain to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Reviewing inventory levels and adjusting orders as needed to ensure that products are available when they are needed.
  • To work closely with finance and ensure that purchase budget/funds requirement is given well in advance so that finance can plan for availability of funds.
  • Coordinating with other departments within their company to ensure that materials are stocked, products are shipped on time, and customers are satisfied.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • · Ensuring that all operations within the department are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Responsible for developing business processes, SLA’s and ensuring that it is followed.
  • · Manage all staff reporting to the position to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities.
  • · Work closely with procurement team and suppliers to source the right products.
  • · Liaise with other departments to establish and maintain effective and relevant supply chain activities and support in relation to the organization's sales, purchasing, inventory management and overall operating functions.
  • · To develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in supply chain activity and procedures.
  • · Preparing reports/analysis on supply chain activities to assist management in making effective business decisions.

  • Good ability to analyze complex problems and develop alternative solutions.
  • Excellent ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Ability to understand commercial geography, shipping routes, freight, insurance and related matters.

Educational Qualification:

  • · Post Graduate Degree (preferably in Supply Chain/Logistics)

Experience:

  • ·15+ years of relevant experience with 5 years in a similar role.
