Position Overview

On behalf of a leading port operator, we are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support a major port infrastructure project in Damascus, Syria. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing civil works activities, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting project delivery in line with quality, safety, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate civil works activities on site.
• Review and validate technical drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Monitor progress of roads, utilities, and infrastructure networks construction.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Identify technical issues and propose appropriate solutions.
• Support reporting to project management regarding progress, risks, and resource needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience in civil works and infrastructure projects.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Civil works execution
  • Roads construction
  • Utilities and underground networks
• Experience in port projects or large-scale infrastructure developments is considered a strong advantage.
• Strong technical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
