Role Overview:
The QA Operations Team Lead will oversee the Quality Assurance (QA) operations for our platform, ensuring that all products and features meet the highest standards of quality. This role involves managing the reported issues by users and the internal teams while coordinating testing activities, and implementing best practices to enhance QA processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, multitasking, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Issue Management: Receive, validate, assign, prioritize, and follow up on all reported issues from various departments. Own the "report a bug" channel and all related communications.
- Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive QA strategies and test plans. Conduct daily smoke tests on all platforms with the team.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and coverage.
- Training and Communication: Conduct training sessions for other departments to announce and explain releases in detail. Explain features with continuous updates using business terminology.
- Bug Tracking and Resolution: Manage bug tickets by assessing them, pre-validating with the reporting person, and assigning priorities based on a predefined prioritization framework. Ensure timely resolution of issues and work closely with development teams.
- Reporting and Metrics: Share weekly status reports with the Product & Operations Manager. Develop and maintain QA reports and metrics to track progress, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, requirements, and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in QA testing and operations, with at least 3-5 years in a lead or management role.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work cross-team, adapt to changes, and continuously learn.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or certifications in QA or related fields (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
