<p>The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Jethur’s enterprise software products meet approved functional, technical, security, usability, and performance requirements before release to customers or deployment to UAT and production environments.</p><p>The role includes reviewing requirements, preparing test plans and cases, executing manual and automated tests, documenting defects, validating fixes, and maintaining clear quality evidence for every release.</p><p>Key Responsibilities Requirements and Test Planning</p><ul><li>Review BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and technical specifications.</li><li>Identify unclear, incomplete, or conflicting requirements before development begins.</li><li>Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, checklists, and test data.</li><li>Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and release results.</li><li>Estimate testing effort and communicate dependencies or quality risks.</li></ul><p>Functional Testing</p><ul><li>Conduct functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.</li><li>Validate complete end-to-end workflows across Jethur modules.</li><li>Test user roles, permissions, approval workflows, notifications, reports, dashboards, and audit trails.</li><li>Verify configuration, multilingual interfaces, and responsive behaviour where applicable.</li><li>Test positive, negative, boundary, and exception scenarios.</li></ul><p>API and Database Testing</p><ul><li>Validate REST APIs using tools such as Postman or equivalent.</li><li>Verify request and response structures, status codes, authentication, authorization, and error handling.</li><li>Perform database validation using SQL queries.</li><li>Confirm data integrity and consistency across interfaces, databases, reports, and integrated systems.</li><li>Test third-party integrations and identify whether defects originate internally or externally.</li></ul><p>Defect Management</p><ul><li>Record defects with clear descriptions, reproduction steps, evidence, severity, priority, and affected environments.</li><li>Work with developers and product owners to investigate and resolve defects.</li><li>Retest resolved defects and perform impact-based regression testing.</li><li>Monitor defect ageing, recurrence, rejection rates, and leakage into UAT or production.</li><li>Escalate critical defects and quality risks before release decisions.</li></ul><p>Test Automation</p><ul><li>Develop and maintain automated tests for critical and repetitive workflows.</li><li>Support automation for web interfaces, APIs, and regression suites.</li><li>Integrate automated tests into the development and deployment pipeline where applicable.</li><li>Analyse automation failures and maintain reliable test scripts.</li><li>Recommend suitable areas for automation based on risk and return.</li></ul><p>Release and UAT Readiness</p><ul><li>Verify that the agreed scope has been fully tested before delivery to UAT.</li><li>Prepare release-level test execution reports and quality summaries.</li><li>Confirm that critical and high-severity defects are closed or formally accepted before release.</li><li>Provide a documented QA recommendation for release approval or rejection.</li><li>Support customer UAT by reproducing issues, validating defects, and coordinating fixes.</li><li>Ensure that no release is delivered to UAT or production without completing the required QA controls and approvals.</li></ul><p>Quality Improvement</p><ul><li>Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.</li><li>Conduct root-cause analysis for escaped or recurring defects.</li><li>Improve testing standards, templates, tools, and processes.</li><li>Maintain reusable regression suites and product-quality documentation.</li><li>Promote early testing and quality ownership throughout the development lifecycle.</li></ul><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of software quality assurance or software testing experience.</li><li>Experience testing web-based enterprise applications.</li><li>Strong understanding of software development and testing life cycles.</li><li>Practical experience with test and defect management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.</li><li>Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.</li><li>Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.</li><li>Understanding of browser developer tools, logs, and basic technical troubleshooting.</li><li>Ability to create clear test cases, defect reports, and quality-status reports.</li><li>Strong written and spoken English;
